ATLAS Continues This Week with Two Training Programmes

Fundamentals of Directing

In this first session, participants will explore the practice of stage directing through the work of João Brites, examining different ways of conceiving and constructing performance. Drawing on his artistic trajectory and theoretical reflections, the session presents a distinctive approach to contemporary creation, highlighting methodologies for transforming ideas, texts, bodies and materials into stage language.

Theatricality Workshop

Participants will explore the relationship between sensory perception and representation, starting from the concept of the Actor as Artist. Through exercises focused on gaze directionality, chorality and focus, they will work with fundamental tools for theatrical creation and collective improvisation.

The workshop also addresses the articulation of different levels of awareness in performance, enabling actors to combine attention to physical detail with a broader understanding of dramaturgical construction, thereby deepening their stage presence and theatrical quality.
