Antagon theaterAKTion is one of the largest and most renowned independent theatre groups in Germany. The collective lives and works together in eastern Frankfurt.

Antagon uses a non-verbal and emotional form of communication that goes beyond words. For this reason, their performances can be understood anywhere in the world. Through physical theatre, live music and dance, they create striking images and aim to connect with people emotionally in their concrete reality, breaking blind routines and repeatedly asking: How could things be different, and how can we act differently together?

From the very beginning, the group’s concept has been to bring theatre and dance to audiences in open spaces, transforming these places into cultural centres. At POP, they presented their work at Estúdio 13 – Espaço de Indústrias Criativas, in Ponta Delgada, a partner venue of the Festival.
