MODULE CONTENT
In this module, participants are invited to immerse themselves in the first experiential exercise of the course: actors are blindfolded to heighten sensory perception and to discover which neural mechanisms are activated when performing from a concrete sensation. After raising the question of the Actor-Artist’s representation, the work progresses to exercises on directionality and the quality of gaze—used here as a wide and multifaceted theatrical premise for creation.
The module then introduces the notion of “chorality,” associated with interdependence and the spectator’s focus, serving as a useful tool for collective improvisations and the analysis of scenic material. It also addresses the actor’s focus and the actor’s commentary—tools that activate the elasticity of hierarchical levels of consciousness.
Finally, we analyze how the Actor-Artist, centered on concrete and physical details, can achieve an enhanced theatrical quality while simultaneously maintaining awareness of spatial composition and dramaturgical development, allowing authentic emotion to emerge effortlessly.

MODULE CONTENT
This workshop introduces the principles and vocabulary of the Suzuki Method of Actor Training and the Viewpoints practice—two foundational approaches within contemporary performing arts.
Developed by director Tadashi Suzuki and the Suzuki Company of Toga (SCOT), the Suzuki training focuses on activating the actor’s innate expressive capacities through physical rigour, concentration, and stage presence. Created by artist Mary Overlie, the Viewpoints approach cultivates flexibility, articulation, and perceptual sharpness, deepening the relationship between the individual and the ensemble.
The workshop offers in-depth practice in both methods, combined with the development of new skills related to the art of speech and text in performance, enhancing the performer’s vocal presence, listening, and expressiveness.
